Is medicinal cannabis legal in Australia?
Yes. Medicinal cannabis has been legal in Australia since 2016 when accessed through a TGA-regulated pathway — either the Special Access Scheme (SAS-B) or via an Authorised Prescriber. A valid prescription from a registered doctor is always required.
Who is eligible for a consult?
Australian residents aged 18 or older who have a condition that hasn't responded adequately to standard treatments. Our online eligibility form will confirm whether a telehealth consult is appropriate for you.
Is this covered by Medicare?
Some consults may attract a Medicare rebate if you meet the MBS telehealth item number criteria. This varies by consult type and is confirmed at the time of booking. The consult fee shown is the gross fee.
What happens if I'm not eligible?
You'll be directed to resources that may suit your situation better — including speaking to your regular GP. No fee is charged for eligibility checks.
How does the prescription reach me?
If a prescription is issued, it's sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy. Many partnered pharmacies offer delivery direct to your home, typically within 2–5 business days.
Will this affect my driving?
It can. Many medicinal cannabis products contain THC, which is detectable in roadside drug tests regardless of impairment. Your doctor will discuss this with you in detail during the consult.
Is my data kept private?
Yes. All patient information is stored in Australian-hosted, healthcare-grade systems and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles. We never share your data without explicit consent.
Can I continue with my regular GP?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. With your consent, we can send a shared-care letter to your GP summarising your treatment plan.
